dog-bathLast weekend Leo had his first bath in the newly completed retro pink master bathroom. The larger shower stall, combined with the new hand held shower head, made it so much easier for Jim and I to bathe him. An added bonus — after the final rinse, we could dry him and let him shake offย inside the shower to avoid having to also towel dry the entire bathroom. It was wonderful…for us.

Dog-showerUnfortunately, Leo is not a fan of getting wet. Puddles, rain, the hose, and especially the kind of soaking wet that a bath requires all send him running for the hills. Lucky for us he also hates getting dirty — avoiding mud at all costs — so we don’t really have to bathe him that often.

dog-doesn't-like-bathDespite the fact that Leo doesn’t enjoy the new retro pink bathroom as much as Jim and I do, at least his dog showers are easier overall. You should see us try to lift a squirmy, 75 pound dog into a bath tub. Not exactly anyone’s idea of a good time.

  1. Oh no, I let out an involuntary little laugh at dear Leo’s face …. He is such a big love and now I feel guilty. But he is a lucky boy to have his devoted people-parents and such a stylish home-!

  2. TOO Funny! (Sorry Leo) …. can’t stop smiling! I’m sure the new pink bath is much easier on him, but he just didn’t want to let you guys think it was. hehehehe

  3. That is so adorable! The shower must be a lot easier. I’m sure Leo at least appreciates the radiant floor heating in the bathroom. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  4. Having had the pleasure of seeing Leo post bath, I must say he was soft, sweet, and not too sheddy…I wore dark pants and escaped relatively unfurry.

    • Awww, I wanted a puppy for my whole life and had to wait until I had a pup-friendly yard and house of my own to adopt Leo (a little less than 7 years ago). Since then, we’ve had our ups and downs with training and such, but I wouldn’t trade Leo for the world. He is such a good boy and I love being his forever “mom.”

Plus, yes, he is very cute. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Leo is such a sweetheart! We have a 7 year old Westie named Barney who also hates to get wet. But a big fan of snow – go figure. We only bath him at home when absolutely necessary. The mess, the mess, the mess!
Love your pink master bathroom. I grew up in a house with a pink main bathroom. You did a fabulous job. Congratulations!
