This last weekend, I took a little time out of my hectic DIY schedule (pink bathrooms don’t build themselves) to visit with one of my best friends and her husband (who just so happens to also get along tremendously well with my adorable husband Jim). They were swinging through on a road trip and could only stay at our house about 24 hours — but that didn’t stop us from packing our short time together with lots of fun and catching up. Since the two of us live so far apart (a 12 hour drive by their calculations) we haven’t been able to visit much since we graduated from Art School. In fact, we hadn’t seen each other in nearly 4 years (since she was in my wedding) but even after that long time apart it seemed like we picked up right where we left off. In fact, we talked until 3:30 in the morning and then got up after a few hours of sleep to talk some more before she and her husband had to head for home.

Even Leo enjoyed their visit.

Oh, who am I kidding, he loves when we have visitors. Of course he had to get in on the commemorative photos too.

We always take a few “serious” photos and then a few “silly” photos when we all get together — the shot above was our favorite. Everyone is making a face except Leo. Usually everyone is smiling and Leo is making a face. What gives, dog?

Jim and I count ourselves very lucky to have such good friends. Thanks for a great visit guys!

  1. We made the blog, I feel famous! :). What an awesome time, mike and I had so much fun and were much in need of an adult weekend with two little ones at home. We love the retro ranch and the little family that lives there :). Chris, you came up in our conversation lots, we miss you!! YSU reunion next year? πŸ™‚
