INSULATION FOR THE MASTER BATH REMODEL…ONE STEP CLOSER…

bathroom-insulated

Last week was a flurry of activity. I finished my rough construction — and then had a parade of contractors come in to install new wiring, move the A/C vent and put in the radiant heat floors (from underneath). On friday morning, our master bathroom passed the rough inspection for construction, electrical and plumbing — hurray — which means that I could install the insulation over the weekend. I just finished it and let me tell you — it is not my favorite part. Now I have to call and get my insulation inspection and then I can start closing up the walls…

Yes, very good Leo, I can see you have been paying attention.

So hopefully soon, my master bathroom will start looking more like a room and less like a cavernous void where a room used to be. It is so exciting!

  1. You DID buy and install wiring protector plates, didn’t you? They attach to your studs where wiring and plumbing goes through, like in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lD7Ip8ntxK8. They keep drywall screws from going through wires and plumbing. Don’t know why that came to mind, but thought I’d follow through and mention it:)

    • Yes, those are in place in the areas where they need to be. You can actually see some of them along the PVC vent pipe where it meets the ceiling. All are installed as per local building code… thanks for making sure I’m paying attention though!
