Hi guys! I’m back from my trip to Tennessee!
It was a great time and I’ll give you a run down later in the week, but I’ve gotta get back to the grind tomorrow, so I’ll keep it short tonight with my favorite score from the trip and fill in the details next time.
Yes, that tag says “Gold Bird Wall Hanging, $12.00”
$12 for a retro C. Jere style starburst bird wall hanging is good news in my book! This is a small wall hanging, probably 10 or 12 inches in diameter with no markings or stamps of any kind. I especially like the patina on the piece, I’m not sure if it has always looked like this or if the coloration on the middle bird was always striped, but I think it ads character. I also like the burned looking edges on the starburst…it ads dimension to the piece.
Now to figure out where to hang it up…though I’ve got some time. I didn’t have room for this in my luggage, plus airport security probably wouldn’t have approved this for filler in my carry on, so I left it at Mom and Dad’s house for now. They’ll be bringing it up for me when they come for Christmas in July, so I won’t have to wait too long.
I did see the larger, more oval version of this at another antique shop in Nashville, but they wanted about $135 for it, which was out of my budget for bird wall art, so I left it behind for someone else to discover.
More about my Nashville thrift adventures, other great finds and some of the fun I had coming up on my next post!
