HOW’S IT HANGING?

Nelson Ball clock copy by Verichon

Remember my trip to visit Mom and Dad in Tennessee back in April? I picked up a few things for the wall that didn’t quite fit in my suitcase. Luckily for me, when Mom and Dad showed up for Christmas in July, they were able to fit my wall decor scores in the car.

Then it was just a matter of me finding the time and the place to hang them (which took longer than I thought). I decided to put the Nelson Ball Clock copy by Verichron in the guest room, just above one of my green chairs.

I think it looks great on the light green wall.

Then it was time to find a spot for my C. Jere birds wall sculpture.

The birds came to roost in my den, along with my other brass birds. They fit on this bit of wall very nicely, don’t you think?

The distance this hangs from the wall in combination with the lighting create some interesting shadows.

Just when I thought I was finished hanging my new wall decor, the UPS man left a mystery box at the door. Inside was a triptych painted especially for me from one of my youngest fans — the three year old son of one of my best friends who graduated art school with me. I guess the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree, huh?

I decided to hang this happy orange trio in my office…

It goes so nicely with the curtains and other orange accents. I wonder how my friend’s son knew I like orange so much…

What do you think of all the new wall art Leo?

Typical response. Well, I’m off for a walk.

Stay tuned!

  1. What to love the best… I think the brass birds. I haven’t seen anything like that before and need to keep my eyes peeled. I like the dimension they add. Of course the fan art is very special and extremely nice as well.

  2. I love all your finds. I’ve bought a couple of the Nelson repros, and I’m very happy with mine. Yours looks great. The birds and the triptych by your young friend are great too. My not-quite-three-year-old grandson tried his hand at painting today for the first time. I think I need to put him to work on something for me to hang on my walls!

  3. The ball clock goes very well above the green chair in the guest room. :) Love the placement (and shadows) on the C. Jere brass piece. You found a good place for those special paintings too. :) Glad you took Leo for a walk .. would hate to see him turn into a melancollie … or a melon collie! LOL
